Growing up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Roanoke, Virginia, my parents always thought I'd become an artist. As a child, I constantly had a crayon in my hand. To this day, there is still a kitchen drawer in my childhood home haphazardly stocked full of every different marker, pencil, scissor and construction paper color one could ever need. My parents fully supported every artistic endeavor I undertook. Eventually those interests turned to the performing arts sector, as I studied acting and theatre at a high school level, and in college at Hollins University before making a career move to radio.

After working as a radio news reporter and morning show co-host, I decided to change paths. Desiring to be more involved in the local arts and culture scene, I took a job in fundraising at Center in the Square—a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing arts and science experiences and education. It was there, that I rediscovered my love of fine art. While working closely with the marketing department, I learned firsthand the impact that visual appearance and presence have on a business. I saw how my love of shapes, color, and photography could be incorporated with typography to create stunning designs that tell a company's story.

I returned to school and graduated in 2012 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Design and Visual Communications. Upon graduation, I began working as a graphic designer, relocating to Wilmington, North Carolina in 2015 to continue my career in advertising.

During the height of the pandemic in 2020, I decided to return to my passion of fine art, creating colorful landscapes and abstracts in acrylic and oil. In the fall of 2023, the inspiring sunsets and marshes of Southport, North Carolina became home and the small town scenes are making their way onto my canvases.
